Faculty Research

The Department of Chemistry faculty are involved in active research programs in the areas of analytical, biochemistry, bio-organic, environmental, inorganic/bioinorganic, materials, organic, physical/biophysical, and polymer chemistry.

Student Research

The Chemistry Department at Missouri State University offers undergraduate students the opportunity to perform research with a faculty member.  The benefits of undergraduate research are:

Instrumentation

Research equipment available in the Chemistry Department includes:  FT-NMR, FT-IR, GC-MS, ICP, HPLC, GC, AA, UV-Vis, X-ray crystallography, Lachat QuikChem 8500 and a 400 MHz Varian INOVA nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectrometer.

Other instruments such as ion implanter, SEM and STM are available through close association between chemistry and other science departments.
