Research Interests

Research interests include polymer chemistry and organic chemistry. In the area of polymer chemistry my research has involved synthesis, characterization and applications of poly(ethylene glycol) derivatives which are of considerable importance in a variety of chemical and biological endeavors. Current projects include synthesis and characterization of novel poly(ethylene glycol) derivatives, heterodifunctional poly(ethylene glycol) and different copolymers of this polymer. In the area of organic chemistry, I am interested in the study of solvent effects on reactions involving organic and organometallic compounds in order to obtain information on reaction mechanisms.
